Hi Confused
Follow the guidelines and make sure you list everything that you actually pay for from your monies.
Obviously the guide i gave you is out of date with current prices but cost up yours and see what happens.
You can always once you work out roughly the I&E post onhere and we will have a look over for you, if you do that tell us how many in your home, your income etc.
Best of luck
Take Care

When I did an expenditure sheet for an IVA i was left with 392.50 per month and the allowances I gave were:
Rent inc telephone and bills 360 Internet 15 Mobile 50 Housekeeping 110 Petrol 120 Servicing 20 (increase this if you need to £20 is the limit for IVA) Car insurance 80 Car tax 13.50 Smoking 50 * Clothing 28 Glasses 10 Dental treatment NHS 10 Dog insurance 42 Dog Care 10 * Dog food 35 * Hobbies 16 * Sundries 11 Dry cleaning 10 * Papers 5 * Church/Charity 2 * Hairdressing 10 TOTAL 1007.50
From this how much would I pay per month to the BR? My salary is £1400 per month. Is there anything i have missed which i could claim for? Are my allowances to high/to low

Right car ins thats very high. They dont allow smoking money. What are sundries and also your rent including telephone is that a package or can you seperate for the form. Internet they wont allow on its own add it to your phone package no more thany say 50 per month. If you have a home phone some ORs dont allow mobiles but anything is worth a try. Car service etc i would put up, dog insurance not sure if that will be allowed or the dog care, dog food should be included in your own food allowances. Housekeeping for a single person i would have thought would be more, what were the guidelines again. Have a check on that one.

Rent inc telephone and bills 360 Internet 15 - you will prob not be allowed this Mobile 50 Housekeeping 110 - you can put higher on this one - it is just for you? Petrol 120 Servicing 20 (increase this if you need to £20 is the limit for IVA) Car insurance 80 Car tax 13.50 Smoking 50 * - you wont be allowed this Clothing 28 Glasses 10 Dental treatment NHS 10 Dog insurance 42 Dog Care 10 * Dog food 35 * - this might be included in housekeeping Hobbies 16 * - not sure if you would be allowed this either Sundries 11 - what do you mean by this? Dry cleaning 10 * Papers 5 * - this would prob not be allowed Church/Charity 2 * - might not be allowed Hairdressing 10
could you add in other travel...?
If you are left with £392.50 - you will pay 50-70% of this towards an IPA....so you will pay about £200 - £250 to an ipa and be left with under £200 a month for everything else....
Hope this helps a little.....
Thanks

369 – Thanks for your input. As for travel what do you mean? I pay £52 per month direct from my salary for a bus pass to get to work so not sure what else I could add. Housekeeping is just me so could increase. Not sure what sundries is – it was included in the IVA so I have removed it.
Jo – thanks again. Rent is direct to my parents and includes everything. Car insurance is cheapest on the market for me (had two crashes). Allowance for housekeeping is £187 on the guidelines you provided so maybe slightly more now so I have upped that. I have removed smoking but left mobile in – if I am not allowed that maybe I could say I contribute £50 to the landline? How much could I crease car serving to? It does say pets may be allowed on evidence
Rent inc telephone and bills 360 Mobile 50 Housekeeping 184 Petrol 120 Servicing 20 Car insurance 83 Car tax 13.5 Clothing 28 Glasses 10 Dental treatment NHS 10 Hobbies 16 Dry cleaning 10 Papers 5 Church/Charity 2 Hairdressing 10 Dog insurance 42 Dog Care 10 Dog food 35 Outgoings 1008.5 Balance 391.5
Anything else I am missing guys?

Hi Confused,
Travel - oh ok so it comes off of your salary anyway - thought you would have travel in there somewhere...
People's have been altered before, usually the OR putting up things like household costs becasue of the recent credit issues..., it would seem though that even if you did add anything else in you would still have disposible income and therefore you would get an IPA for the next three years, if your Disposible income is under £100 you will not get one usually.
Im just trying to think if there is anything else you could include!!!

Hi confused,
This is fresh in my mind as we've recently 'negotiated' (heavily!!) with our examiner to get our IPA's sorted. I've done loads of research into what they seem to be allowing/disallowing at the moment and will tell you how I see it. Here goes! :-)
Rent inc telephone and bills 360 (just put rent) Mobile 50 (won't be allowed, but try 'telephone' as £50 Housekeeping 184 (try £220?) Petrol 120 Servicing 20 (we were allowed £40 for 'spares and servicing') Car insurance 83 Car tax 13.5 Clothing 28 (this is low. Try £60 or even more if you need suits for work) Glasses 10 Dental treatment NHS 10 Hobbies 16 (won't be allowed)
Dry cleaning 10 Papers 5 (won't be allowed) Church/Charity 2 (won't be allowed) Hairdressing 10 Dog insurance 42 (the most I've seen allowed for pets is £20) Dog Care 10 (unlikely to be allowed on top of the £20 pet ins) Dog food 35 (will be included in housekeeping, I'd imagine)
Add:
Prescriptions 10 Domestic break 15 Any union fees? Breakdown cover?
Hope that's helped somewhat! :-)
Take care,
C. x |

Hi C.
Is there a limit on what you can put in for rent? There's myself and my son who will be moving to rented accommodation but its £500. Will the OR see this as excessive? Also, does housekeeping include shopping? If so what could i put down for the both of us? |

If that's what your rent is I don't see that the OR will have a problem with it. Providing the house isn't way bigger than you need, and the rent isn't a great deal higher than others in your area you'll be ok.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Hi hitman,
I'd say as long as you don't plan to rent a five bed detached for the two of you and it's about average for the type of property for your area, there should be no problem.
Housekeeping does include food. How old's your son?

Yeah, its a good price, its a 3 bed terraced, you could probably pick up a 2 bed flat for that much...
He'll be turning 4 in March. |
