Good evening. i was made bankrupt in Dec 2005 for 3,000 pounds debt by the council. I attended the interviews with the Public insolvency practitioners, i had no other creditors at the time and paid the debt in full, unfortuanately I was ONE day late in making the payment and my case was given to a trustee. I told the trustee I had paid the debt in full but he told me I still have to be charged and as I have aproperty I will not be able to sell or re-mortgage until I paid 15,000 pounds in charges, I was also discharged from my debt in Apr 2006 by Croydon CC. This year I re-mortgaged my property and had to pay the trustee 18,000 (incl interest) |

I would like to clsim back most of the money the trustee took from me as my debt was paid in full before he was ordered to take over my estate.

Hi
Your first step should be to ask the Trustee for a breakdown of their time costs so you can see how their charges got so high when they had no assets to realise, and little else to do in the case. When you have received this and had a chance to review it, then you can speak to them and ask them to justify their charges. If you are still unhappy you can report the Trustee to their governing body.
