Hi,

I had my phone call today at the OR request - it went okay but am a little confused. The OR said the soa was fine and they didn't need to ring hubby as nothing to say to him. Does this mean that his tax code won't change and that we don't have to make any payments?

Feel relieved that it's over now but I can't really believe it!

Thanks for all your help and support throughout.

Hi S2D

Thats great news. Maybe they dont need to speak to him as they have enough information to go by at the moment.

Did they not mention the NT code, it may or may not come into affect now as we are getting closer to the end of the year and it can take 3 months or so to get one up and running.

So they may not even bother. I would just sit back and relax and wait for the letters to come in for the things that are exempt.

At least thats another worry out of the way.

Best of luck and well done, you;-)

Jo

Hi,

No tax code was mentioned, but I worry about it.
For Siobhan - it went really well and the man was very nice and put me at ease. Don't know why I worried so much really... just waiting for letters to arrive in post now.
Had celebratory mug of hot chocolate with all the trimmings at Starbucks today :o)

they still may apply the nt tax code they will send papers out for you to sign following the telephone conversation, did they set an ipa?
don't worry about the NT code thing anyway as it doesn't come into force until its applied so don't worry about that as others have said it may not be applied but there is still 5 months to go before the end of the tax year so don't be surprised if it is, it won't make any difference to your i+e as you wouldn't have seen it anyway just remember to put it aside should it be applied.
i had a face to face meeting with mine for over 3 hours as hubby sat outside when they brought him in i was allowed to stay as he is dyslexic and his interview lasted less than half an hour as they had got all the info from me, we didn't get an ipa either, discharged 6 months later, good luck to all going BR it does get better i promise you.
