Hi everyone,
I am trying to get some of the SOA done today so that it is ready for next week (11th of November). I have questions about the assets section.
Firstly, we have a motability car, so do I put that anywhere in section 3? 3.9 is about a motor vehicle that you do not own. Do I put it here? Or does it go somewhere else?
Also I am unsure about my engagement and eternity rings. They are probably worth about £700 in total. Do I put these down? Will I be able to keep them?
Thanks everyone,
Amanda |

Hi you should put the car in 3.9 because you do not own it although the V5 may show you as the registered keeper or the joint registered keeper with the DWP.
You should enter the DWP as the owner and the approx value.
You've no need to list the rings.

Thanks John.
I will do that...the V5 does show my husband as the keeper but we do not hold the original document.
Glad to hear about the ring.
Many thanks,

Hi Amanda, We have a motability car and as John says yoy have to list it in the section 3.9 'do you have use of a car' with Motability being the owner. Our OR just confirmed that we paid for it directly from source of benefit and that we didn't recieved the cash first and then pay for the monthly rental. Hope this helps

Hi Tracy
Yes that helps thanks. I have now completed that section and moved a little further forward with completing the SOA...it's a marathon!

Hi again.
More questions:
My husband is disabled and hasn't worked since 1996 so of course doesn't pay tax as he receives benefits. Section 6.9 is about tax information. What should I do if we don't have any of this information bearing in mind he last worked in 1996?
Thanks again,
Amanda |

Hi Amanda
I would just go to the next section and just leave that, just adding in the last date he worked.

Hi Amanda,
Both Hubby and me disabled with a tax code of NIL provided by the substitute p60 from the benefits agency. I wrote those codes in. When sending info off to the OR i enclosed the substitute p60(issued every april) with a covering letter. Hope that helps

Hi Tracy
I know the letter you mean. I will dig that out and use the info from that.
Thanks a lot, Amanda x |
