Went through more of the forms last night and have a few more bits I am confused on so if anyone can shed some light on it that would be great.....
1. Do we include mobile phones under the telephone expenses (both are pay as you go now)?
2. As we have just moved in our new electric & gas company have started us on £30 each/month for gas & electric. I think at least the gas will rise above this so how do I work out a figure to put on the forms as we do not want to end up short in a couple of months time?
3.I am still very confused as to what I need to put on my form for I&E compared to my wifes as I bring in £1600/month and she has £250/month benefits? Do We both put the same figures down for expenditure and they will take into account we pay jointly even though income is so different? Do I have to caluculate exaclty what each of us pay each month as a percentage? This part is really confusing me for some reason & can't get my head round it!! As I am going to be completing the wifes forms I really want to get it right in my head!
4. Do I put our recently left property down in the "property diaposed of in last 5 years" section?
Again so sorry for all the questions you know I wouldn't ask unless I really need to.
Thanks.. |

Hi Turborat
I would leave of the mobiles if you have a home phone.
The gas and electric if its only an estimate then i would make sure that you know the amount you will be paying will be enough if i were you i would up it a bit as the winter is here and you will be using more and chances are when you get your first bill they may up the DD.
If your both going BR then mirror the I&E and just put your income in yours with her contributing and vice versa.
I would list the house as property disposed of as yes technically you have. I think that bit is right as i have not come across that before.
I do hope this has helped a bit :-)

Great advice yet again!! I really appreciate it.
So we should just leave the mobiles off the forms and I just put exactly the same expenditure figures on each set of forms but just adjust the income part accordingly.
As for the gas & electric I have got a friend of mine looking into what he pays each mont for both and I can use his as a guide. I think it may be between £70-75/month for both.
Are there any guidelines for the value of expenditure we should go for? 2 Adults & dog & cat in 2 bed house?
Thanks Also I will list the old house in the "dispossed of" part. |

hi Turbo
Our gas and electric is 75 each but thats for a family of 5 i would say about 45 each on that.
The household expenses i have a rough guide in my blog have a look through as their is a link, read through that but remember its a little out of date and i cant find a new one so use for guidance only.
As for the income etc yes mirror the expenditure and then change the income part as per the person, so if say you bring in 1200 and your OH 400 then on yours it would say your income 1200 other member contributions 400 and vice versa.
LOL

Hi Turborat
Just thought that i'd let you know the examiner put my mobile phone onto my phone bill. My land line is quite low and i only pay £10 a month for my mobile. I originally put my mobile in the other expenses part (off the top of my head can't remember what it's called ont he form. I did say that i needed my mobile due to me working county wide and if the kids needed to contact me or the office in an emergency so that may have had some bearing. If your bills are relatively low then consider if you can add it on. Just so you know my phone was put down for £35 per month, land line and mobile. I think your gas and electric sound fine, i have mine as £70 and it's me 2 kids and a cat. Good luck with it all Nat |

Thanks Nat.
Another question that has come up is internet. Last night I had a big argument with Tiscali as we have had big problems trying to change to the new house so I cancelled and last night joined BT internet on an 18 month contract. Am I allowed internet? Should I cancel the new contract today? Or will I be allowed it? I signed up on the lowest option, option 1, £16/month?
I am panicking a bit as I need to cancel today really to make sure it doesn't go ahead!!
One more question (I know, ANOTHER ONE!!), Do I add my wife in the "Does anyone else have an interest in any property we own" section?
Thanx again for all your help.. |
