Guidelines on monthly expenditure allowance. Hello. Does anybody know if there are any guidelines about what is and is not allowed to be included as your monthly expenditure when they calculate your income payment agreement and the values that are allowed? For example, when I made enquiries about an IVA the woman said 30 pounds was the maximum allowed to be put down for mobile phone... Whilst gym membership wasn't allowed to be included at all. Someone has told me that with bankruptcy the allowances are a little more generous. Anybody have some specific information? Thanks.

Hi Monkey

I have some guidelines in my blog. Have a look at this.

http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedomofinformation/technical/TechnicalManual/Ch25-36/Chapter31/part7/part2/part_2.htm

These are the most up to date that are available right now. Always make sure that you write down what you actually spend as sometimes the OR may require proof.

LOL
