Hi, briefly I was made bankrupt by the inland revenue in 1998 for the sum of £42,000. A local accountant was appointed my "trustee in bankruptcy". I was discharged from bankruptcy in December 2001.
Since 1998 the trustee has taken from me my pension(lump sum and subsequent payments)and my house. I estimate that to date I have paid back in excess £110,000 and obviously that figure is still rising. I did instruct my solicitor to apply for an annulment some two years ago but have heard nothing since. I therefore have decided to take the matter into my own hands and have registered a complaint against the trustee with the Institute of Chartered Accountants. They have written back to me saying I should take the matter up with the trustee direct but i have been doing this for years and it''s like talking to a wall. I would appreciate any advice you could give me, I do intend to see this through to arbitration and Ombudsman if needs be,

Im not 100% sure on how to deal with this as i have not come across it before, but if you can get to a phone, give our helpline a call and leave a name and a number and someone will get back to you who will know what you may be able to do.

Hi
can you let us know which chartered accountants that is.
Additionally was the debt of 42k all the debt or was there additional debt on top - if so how much was that for

The accountants name is Geoffry N Burford and yes the £42,000 was the whole debt.
