hi ,please please help me!! my husband owns a flat that he rented out when he moved in with me so that the mortgage would be covered.the agency have not paid him rent for the property and he has defaulted on his mortgage . all he gets as income is a carers allowance for me as i have illnesses.the money that i get is only incapacity benefit and child tax credit and dla. we have 2 children(12 and 6 months)and just cannot meet the mortgage payments and pay our rent on the house we live in as well.the flat he owns is up for sale.he has already defaulted on the mortgage and has no option but to go bankrupt. is it ok that he does this alone? im hoping i dont have to go bankrupt too as im worried the building society he pays the mortgage to will chase me as well as im married to him and if i have to and my bank account gets frozen, then i cant pay our rent etc as my benefits go into my account. please help me.thanks in advance/

first of all...try not to panic too much, i would suggest you give the helpline a ring, if only to calm your nerves (believe me it will) the numbers at the top of the page.
