Hi there

My hubby has a car on finance which we know will have to go back, but obviously he will need to buy a runaround in order to get to work. How will this work as he will need to save some money for it, will the OR allow hime some time before starting IPA so that he can buy a vehicle?

Thanks

Hi L20

is there a specific reason that hubby needs to go br next week?

It sounds that you could do with sorting the car out prior to Br and confirming the house value and make sure you have the right figures that realistically cover your household bills.

Is hubby in arrears with the HP company?

How long has he had the car and how much is still owing?

Really would suggest you rethink the current timeline to make sure you are 100% organised before the jump

sorry forgot to say that the OR is not under any obligation to let you save up for a car when in Br. Therefore you need to get it sorted first

Hi
Thanks again for your reply. Yes he needs to go bankrupt next week as it took nearly 6 weeks to get the appointment. to be honest we do not have any surplus income but realise on paper that it will look like we have so we have not been able to save any cash, my husband smokes which we know will jot be taken into account so we will still have to find money for that although he is trying to give up and to be honest everyone spends more than they expect each week what with extra trips to the shop each day etc and extra on bills when cold ect. Yes he is in arrears with the car and to be honest we told the finance company approz 11mths ago thta we could not afford it and wanted to return but they are not really interested so he has just been using it.
