We are currenly going thro the BR process, had court, telephone interview wk on Mon. Can you advise as to the %age that is taken from disposable income as my husband has a 2nd job (we have been paying mortgage and rent) and it seems that perhaps it would be pointless in this as will only increase our income? Thanks in anticipation Penny

Hi Penny

It would be between 50% and 70% from your disposable income per month for a max 3 years.

Thanks very much for your prompt reply We have submitted our forms today and interview next Monday.

Decided that hubby should give up extra part time work as had been doing to make payments for rent and mortgage. Without the mortgage payment we can just manage to pay everything on our incomings, leaving just £6 per month spare! ALthough I guess the OR may reduce some of our monthly amounts?

Thanks for your help

Thanks JO, having read a few posts on here it seems that you are a real support to people. Its such a nerve racking time. We have been trying to sell our house for 2 years, I relocated with my young daughter in march 2 weeks prior to completion on move, fell thro and husband ended up styaing there til sept. We now have a very very small 2 bed rented property but at least we are all together and near my family. We have spent nearly 8K on trying to move, house purchases and sales falling thro, solicitors etc and have nothing to show for any of it now, having lost all of our savings. Reality check a few wks ago when we found out my Dad has cancer, we now live a few mins away so can be there whenever we want or are needed. No amount of money can replace our family and we need to keep strong thro xmas and the new year for everyones sake. We had a buyer at 110K and my parents offered 25K cash to Northern Rock (would only have left 10K in charges) and they refused, hence we are now bankrupt. Will feel more happy and settled once we know what we need to pay for the next 3 yrs I guess. Would love to come along to your get together in the new year. Lots of thanks and hugs to you xxx

Hey Penny

Your more than welcome to join us in the New Year and yes your family are the most important things in your life as i know mine are my rocks.

No matter what you must stay strong and forget about the past, look to your new future.

In a few weeks you will look back and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Its great to be free:-)

They are absolutely right Penny, I am going BR in the New Year, my debts are rising and will be even more by 2009. My most precious things in life are my daughter, son, grandson and health, without these I really don't know what I would do. Good luck. Sandie
