Following on from what Needafriend said on another thread.

I think you have to contact the court to get the certificate of discharge. I looked on the IS website and it said you need to contact the court.

http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/faq/faq.htm#10

I suppose Needafriend meant that you could go to the IS website and print off a copy of the page which shows your discharge but I don't know if a credit reference agency will accept this. Experian ask for a certificate or the leter from the OR confirming discharge but Equifax are asking for a certificate only. I thought of insisting to Equifax that they accept the letter on the basis that their competitor accepts it. I don't know what Call Credit's policy is.

Anyone know about this?

Hi Pix

I think you will find that Skippy has send off just her copy from the Insolvency page to each of the creditors and also to the Credit file people.

Yes the court is the only place to obtain a Cert if you want one and they cost £60, you cannot get a cert anywhere else apart from the court you went BR in and you have to apply to them anything from 2 weeks before your date but there is really no need to buy one unless you feel you have too and yes i said look in the Insolvency site to search your name then print off the page that shows your details which also has the print button info at the bottom and send that off.

I've been sending the printout from the insolvency website to my creditors as I refuse to pay £60 unless I absolutely have to!

I haven't had any problems so far, but I didn't have to write to Experian or Equifax as their information was correct. I did have to write to Callcredit and they didn't have a problem with it.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
