My husband and I wanted to say thankyou to john for the call back we recieved yesterday! the advice was greatly appreciated.. we had so many questions, But after going over and over everything i have decided the only way for me is to go and petition for my own bankrupcy..( as scary as it sounds) But i just dont know where to start, Do i just go to the court? where do you begin? Have sorted out a post office card account this morning for my benefits to be paid into. just need to get things moving now as i carnt carry on with all the worry and stress and having bailiffs calling at the house. no doubt i will have many more questions from here on in! so i hope you dont get sick of me.. THANKYOU to John again.....

Hi Sam

I know this was aimed at John but i wanted to say that the process for the bankruptcy is pretty straight forward.

Firstly you need to contact your local court and fond out about there waiting time and also if you have to pre book ot just turn up, whilst on the phone ask them how many copies you will need to take for the statement of affairs.

Then follow this link and start to fill in the forms online, do the easy part first then fill in the other bits, we will help you fill in any areas your not sure off.

https://www.insolvencydirect.gov.uk/isolv/

Then if you need to pre book make an appt as near to your payday as possible so that all monies can be taken out and you will need the fee too. If your on benefits whilst on the phone to the Court ask about any help you may get and how you go about getting it as each court is different.
