Hi all i went bankrupt in sept 2007 and got ED in july 2008 and i was took off the insolvency registra on dec 13th 2008,i have sent my bankruptcy and ED papers to the credit refs but exsperian refuse to alter my files to a discharged bankrupt,my files still state i am bankrupt and will be changed when they are notified , i have wrote to them on a number of accasions but they just say sorry cant alter ur files without ur OR permission i only have the ED papers and they state they will not except these papers and that i should send them a discharge notification that i havent got,so my files will stay the same until i send them thse papers but i dont understand why and iv read they will cost me £60 to get a copy which i can not afford i would like to try and clean up my files which i have tried to by informing the creditors that iv been discharged but they say that will not change my file until exsperian does so any help will be appreciated,

60 pound is probably worth paying in the long run if that's the only way. You could try writing to the OR I suppose.

I can't understand why Experian are doing this, as even if you hadn't had ED you would have been discharged automatically in September 2008.

When I checked my credit files they had been updated to show my discharge date. Did you print the notice of discharge from the Insolvency Service website before you were taken off it? I've sent a copy of that to my creditors and they didn't have a problem with it. If you didn't print it off you might have to pay the £60 I'm afraid.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
