Hi all, just to update, I received a letter today from the OR office asking for comprehensive details as to why my vehicle should be exempt from my bankruptcy estate, the reasons are as follows:
- On my return to work in March I need the vehicle to get to work as I work 40 miles away and by motorway, train ride would cost a fortune and have to go to London and back out again to get there (my work are meant to be moving sometime in the next year within walking distance but as of yet no sign of this happening) - I have the two boys put in a nursery 10 miles away, reason is it is near the motorway junction and half the price of every other nursery in the area and they open 7-7 when all others are 8-6 so need to get them to nursery and home again. - My eldest has Nephrotic Syndrome and is seen by the hospital consultant once a month and I need to get there for the follow up appointments and also if he relapses which is enevitable that he will, I need to be able to get him to hospital quickly for treatment, also when he does relapse he will need to be seen most likely by guys renal unit and I need to be able to get him to places he needs treatment.
The car is worth about 2k now if that has very high mileage and I need it. My family are also 50 miles away so I need the car to get to them, I know this is not a valid reason for the OR but is the above reasons ok and how should I word the letter?
Thank you |

Hi Help
That looks a good enough letter with the reasons to me. I do hope that you manage to work something out with them inorder to keep the car.
Let us know how it all goes.
Happy new year and all that :-)

I think your reasons show more than adequate need for your car.
Just out of interest, can any experts suggest what would happen if the OR disagreed with the reaons for keeping the car but Help007 refused to relinquish it? Would it be a bru/bro or would the OR suspend discharge?
I will be honest and admit that it is an action that I would consider if the OR wanted my car.

If the OR said he wanted the car then he will collect it, but not untill all the arguing is finished
