Hi there,

I have been staring at the cash in hand box for some time now wondering what to do. I have £1000 put aside to purchase a car on Saturday(court date is on Friday typically), I do have to make this purchase as business paid for current car which costs £138 a month and even if I wanted to keep I might not be allowed to.

My question is, can the judge order me not to spend this money as he may think it should go to my creditors?

Regards,
Paranoid

If this is "cash in hand" money then it's illeagal as it should be declared for tax etc, so i wouldn't mention it!

Hi,

just to clarify a point of terminology.

'Cash in Hand' is money that you have in cash i.e. not in the bank. It isn't money that you have earned 'cash in hand' and therefore Baxi's comment is misplaced.

The judge does not decide what you do with any money or assets that you have, the OR does, and you'll be fine as long as you can justify the purchase.

Thank you, i was pretty sure that was the case but didn't want to mess up so close to the finish.
