I have a concern I need some advice on I was discharged from bankruptcy in 2005 now find myself 4 years later back in the same situation.

I wanted to do a Iva with my wife’s debts combined as I have to pay everything as am only one working with two children and because we only have £230 a month left been told its not enough for a Iva on £46000 unsecured debts.

But if I file bankruptcy again am concerned they my want to fine me or even worse prison saying should not f spent out of things like new TV 8 months ago when I had no way of paying for it which I bought thru my catalogue.

Can any one advise me as am so worried been doing a DMP but its not working out

Any help be great full

Thank you

Ian

Hi Ian,

Just to put your mind at rest ... prison is not an option! However, it is likely you'll get a BRO (Bankruptcy Restriction Order) which means although you'll still get discharged at 12 months, you'll be held under the restrictions of bankruptcy for anything up to 15 years.
