would going bankrupt in UK have any effect on emigrating to Canada?

As far as i am aware going bankrupt should have no effect on you emigrating as its not a criminal matter.

Hi GDF817

As Needafriend says, it should have no detrimental effect on emmigrating to Canada.

I guess it depends on which kind of Visa you would be applying for though?

It might be worth checking with the Canadian High Commission in London though on this matter or maybe consulting with an 'Immigration Expert'.
