Hi All

Just thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced this and where do we stand.

We moved out of our old mortgaged house on the 27/11 - we had stopped paying the mortgage on the 1/11 - we had several calls on my mobile from the mortgage provider whom we told that we were going for volantry repossesion - they told us we couldn't do that unless we filled in all their VP forms and signed several documents (which we said no way to).

Having sent the keys back on 6/1 I returned there yesterday to find the whole house boarded up!!! - It made me feel sick and my wife was beside herself - luckily we had moved 100 miles away but my wife and son still keep in touch with our old friends - who we had just told we were moving and had sold the house - what a stigma!

The mortgage provider has not acknowledged any repossesion - so where do we stand?

Cheers

Tim

Hi Jo,

The only reason we have said no to signing anything is that I have read a fair few cases where mortgage providers are getting people to sign for the shortfall even if you go BR.

Cheers

oh ok tim thanks for the heads up on that one i didnt know, funny thing though we have a car to give back and they said that unless we put down in writing that we accept full responsibility for any short fall that they would not collect the car !!!

HAHAHA so the car is still sitting in my garage, i cant believe that they will just leave a 7k car sitting here !!!!

Hi Guys

I am shocked to hear about your home Mr E Guest that is as Jo said horrible. At least your miles away and dont have to look at it :-(

Jo

Our car was taken after we wrote to them and told them to take it. There was nothing to sign other than the letter i sent to tell them that we could not afford to keep it, that the car was now uninsured, under sorn and also devaluing everyday. They came 4 weeks later and took it. We took photos of the car the day they took it showing the mileage and also the car as it was so no damage and then when they took it i took photos and when the OR asked about it i sent the pics and the notice that the driver gave me to the OR.

I never ever heard anything back from the car co at all nothing, it went to auction and now on our credit file its shows satisfied.

LOL

And Mr E Guest i do hope things get better for you, i really do

Hi there

Just reading about your car experiences! We called our finance company 1 yr ago to tell them we couldnt pay (car at the time worth approx 6k) they still havnt collected ,just keep sending debt collection letters for the money, car is now worth less than 4k and now the OR is tying to contact them to see what they want to do about it.

I must have been one of the luckier ones, we had Santander for our finance so maybe its who the finance co is and that may make a difference.

Let us know L20 when yours finally gets sorted out.

L20, i cant believe they still havent collected your a car a year on !!! how stupid, they had good chance of probably recovering most of the debt a year ago !! no wonder companies are in trouble too !!
