i am really surprised with our mortgage co - Advantage. As they are a sub prime lender I expected them to start court proceedings some time ago, but the last full payment they had was back in August, we made a part payment in Sept (A 1/4 of what we normally pay). We have now missed 4 and a bit payments, just get letters after each payment falls due stating what arrears are due, no mention of solicitors at this stage.
Dont know whether they and other mortgage lenders are doing this to take pressure off councils as if you go down council route you have to wait for them to issue court proceedings?
Maybe the government are putting the thumbscrews on them?
We are moving hopefully 27 Feb and hope we can hang out til then. What sort of time scales have other people experienced??
if your plan is to move 27th Feb and you as yet have received no notification of court proceedings in respect of repossession then you'll be fine.
Even if the hearing letter drops on the doormat today stating the hearing is next week, it would take a minumum 8 weeks for eviction. As 27th Feb is only 7 weeks away don't worry.
just confirming what John has said. you will be fine with the dates. even if they wanted to they wouldn't be able to get you out by then now anyway.
their actions are nothing to do with being nice to the councils, rather they either don't want the house back because of the negative equity and huge loss, or there may be a some admin problems at the minute - more common than you would think
