has anyone else experienced this ? ................we have contacted northern rock over 2 weeks ago saying that we want to hand the keys back, they said they would send out appropriate forms, to date nothing has arrived, also contacted car finance company approx 1 month ago, sating the same thing, as also absolutely nothing just continuous letters saying how much we now owe them, i feel that they are dragging their feet......why ??? who knows ?, just want to tie up all the loose ends now

Hi,

Same here - we stopped paying the mortgage 1/10 and moved out 25/11 - we spoke to our mortgage provider in December and they said they'd need us to complete their VR forms - as yet we've had nothing - so we sent the keys back anyway with a covering letter.

We did return to the house though this week to find it borded up - even though the MP has not taken possesion and we only went 3 months into arrears as of 1/1 - I wonder if this is legal? We were with Rooftops who went into administration mid 08

Cheers

Tim

Hi this is unfortunately quite normal.

we act for a number of people and it is not unusual to have to chase the finance companies for several months to come and collect their belongings.

We still have a pitney bowes franking machine from June!

if they acted more quickly it would certainly reduce the losses for them and then their shareholders - us.
