Hi All
My wife and I will be declaring ourselves bankrupt within the next few days. I would appreciate some feedback on our current situation:
Suspended re-possession order on house - lender has asked court for eviction date. Currently using a pre-payment meter for electricity to collect arrears of circa £3,000 following very long period of estimated bills.
Assuming I can obtain alternative rented accommodation with the help of my wife's family putting up deposits/actng as guarantors what is the situation with the electricity arrears? Can they be included as part of the bankruptcy and will this create difficulties in obtaining an electricity supply for new residence?
All seems very scary at the moment.
Thanks
Apricot

Hi Apricot and welcome
As far as i can see yes the debt should be included in your bankruptcy.
If you do have them included and you move then you may want to go to another supplier as it may make it harder to get an account with them and they may impose other T&C's.
Best of luck and keep on posting
