Hi Janni-jan and welcome
Good luck for tomorrow although its not as bad as we all imagine
As for the house then it may be worth finding a private landlord if you can and then they wont do a credit check, you will also be able to find they are likely to be more understanding towards Bankruptcy and should be ok.
You will need a good deposit, maybe call the local housing people and see if you can put your name down on their list also.
Dont worry. While its harder its not impossible
LOL

thanks for that Jo! what happens if we need a credit check tho? will it be a no-go? the only reason i'm asking is i've seen a property and its with an estate agent they want 60 quid to do a reference check will i be wasting a hard earned 60 quid?

Hi JJ,
We rented prior to going BR (which we still haven't done as yet) - we did this because we found that the Agents took out credit checks even when renting - we found some used experian etc whilst others just asked for a couple of personal references and a bank reference. It appears each has their own system.
We did find that ones we did not pass would still let us rent but only with a 6 month deposit (and whose got that kind of dosh!)
Good luck.

I guess Ive missed the boat then, as we are going bankrupt tomorrow and have only just found a property to rent there is no way I can muster up 6 months rent in advance! thanks for the info.
