Just made bankrupt.

Well the deed is done we now are officially bankrupt. We got to the court this morning at 8.20 and the clerk behind the counter who was lovely said she would deal with us early but it would not be any quicker for us.

She basically looked quickly through everything asked for the money and told us to go for a coffee upstairs just in case the judge needed a word and come back at 10.30. We did just that and were given two bits of paper with name and bankruptcy number and was told that if we had not heard from the OR by next Tuesday we should phone or we could call them after 2 today if we had any questions. I was so scared but really I should not have been. It was so straightforward.

Just scared about the OR but like I said in a earlier post Que sara, sara.

Feels like a weight has been lifted. Thanks for all the help on this website.

Its funny how a lot of people approach the court day with trepidation and then find that it is a decent enough experience. Its a weight off the shoulders for sure.

Thank you for kind comments.

I phoned the OR Office but only got to speak to someone who took a few details. They said they would phone next week. They were not scary at all. Maybe that is still to come.

Was told that they had no interest in the co-op account and it was down to the co-op if they wanted to freeze the account and lose the custom. Phoned them and the lady on the phone was a little unsure as what happens when someone goes bankrupt so will have to wait and see now if it gets frozen

Could not resist and phoned a few creditors. Do you know they seem really nasty when chasing you but they were all nice as pie and very sympathetic.

Well I am going to have a glass of wine tonight. Even the kids are getting away with murder. Although now trying to be good with money the dog has just deciced to become ill with an ear infection so will have to fork out £40 for that tomorrow.

Anyways thanks everyone again.

I am sure will be posting once the OR has been in touch.

Nic
