I have a face to face interview at the end of the month, 8 months into BR, to discuss my gambling/spreadbetting.
Just spoke to Brett, and he has told me this is quite unusual and a BRU is normally sent through the post. Brett also mentioned he has come across these type of interviews if a complaint has been made against you.
Why do I feel like a criminal again...? i |

Hi
you were not a criminal in the first place so don't feel like one now. As a gambler facing BR you were aware of the possible consequences but don't worry. I expect the interview will be uncomfortable, the unknown always is, but what can the decision be??? The examiner has to know all of the facts regarding the gambling otherwise how can he know what to propose?
You'll be fine I'm sure. What's a BRU after all. Not much in my book. All the best.

HI,
Thanks. Just spoke to someone else (another forum, forgive me) and they said that these types of interviews may be called if the BRU decision may be borderline....lets hope thats the case. Dont think what I did was any worse than spending beyond my means...I tried to pay the money back on a DMP but the creditors wouldnt freeze interest, so was going nowhere....sorry I was going somewhere, but it was backwards
Regards

HI Indy Dont mean to pry but was your spreadbetting sport or stockmarket related.
I tried stockmarket spreadbetting a while back but jacked it in when i found out 90% of the participants lose.
Its easy to see how it could get out of control though.
Dont feel like a criminal ive read today bank staff are being paid 2 grand bonuses at i dont want to mention the name im sure we could all guess right 1st time...Thats criminal. |

A couple of years ago id have said unbelievable but nothing surprises me after whats happenned in recent months.
I think credit card companies are the next dominoe to fall but since most are owned by the banks its the taxpayer that will end up paying for that.
What doesnt seem right to me is that banks are gonna get away with people losing their houses and yes i know the borrower should take responsibility for their actions.
Banks should also take their share of responsibility lending to people who couldnt afford it so they could get their bonuses. |

Hi indy
My OR is looking into a BRO for me. He told me if it happen ( if he gets enough evedence from the cc companys)i will have to be called in to make a statement and sign it, there is no other way and it cant be done over the phone or by post. But he did say that he was not a horrible mam and he would not bite. He did say he understood my reasons but some people would not. I borrowed money to have fertlity treatment to get my daughter and it went on so long i got myself in a muddle and was struggleing to live and pay it back.
So i am now just waiting to hear from him, he said it would be about 6 months into my BR. But like i said thats if the credit card companys give him all the info, statements, payments etc he needs, he said they are not always that helpful.
I hate all the waiting i feel like my life is still on hold till i know my fate.
good luck and i hope you dont get one, but if you do its not the end of the world, once the interveiw is over you will be on your way to living again, well thats what i am telling myself.
