Hi, i have a few questions if someone could help me.
First i am living with my partner and his name is on the tennancy aggreement only, do i still have to give details of the landlord etc ?
Over the last year i have been borowing off credit cards to pay other credit cards, stupid i know, and now i face BR as i only get child benefit and child tax credit, my partner is self employed, on the br forms it ask's for expenditure, is that the total house or what i pay for, even though my benefit does not cover it, also i used some of the credit card money to pay bills, will this go against me ?
Sorry to ask stupid questions, just really worried, i have done something wrong.

thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum

It would be better to put down all the expenses for the household then you can put down what you get for benefits and what your partner contributes ( separate sections on the form).

As you are not on the tennency agreement I would suggest you put your partner down as the landlord.

I also doubt you will get into trouble for normal living expenses etc.

The Official Receiver will specifically ask if you have made any large purchases with credit in the last year as well ( £1000 or more)

Hi, thanks for that, i have drawn money out on the cards in the last 7 month but only to make monthly payments on my other cards and living expenses, i have not purchased large items with the money, a few small christmas presents, (toys and chocolates) for partner and my son and thats it.

I did not tell my partner what was happening until Xmas as i now realise i can not carry on like this, i already have a debt management plan set up with Payplan, from 6 years ago due to a messy divorce, but after losing my job in the summer have not been able to make payments.

I had a car (2000 reg) which i had to get rid of in june as i could not afford the tyres, brakes etc needed to get it through the Mot not to mention the car tax and insurance, my partner owns a very small 1 man garage and he gave me £500 for it and said he would do it up then sell it on, i have no record of this except, it went under his trade name, would this be acceptable to the OR, he later sold it for £1000 after doing all the work parts etc and getting it through the mot tax etc. Would the OR want the money off my partner ?

The forms are starting to get to me, sorry to drag on.

I have a 17 month old boy, he has an account with halifax which i opened when he was born for birthday money etc, it is in his name and i am trustee, would it be better to close this or will my son lose his money, there is about £170, paid in at his birth, birthday and xmas.

I would just like so say what a wonderfull forum this i am really worried to go bancrupt but as i have no assets this seem the only option, to get my life back on track, i currently owe £51000 going back nearly 10 years, i wish i had never had a credit card or a loan.

thanks again.

HI
PLEASE FIND RESPONSE BELOW IN CAPS

NO, JUST ENTER "FORD ESCORT, REG ABC 123, SOLD JULY 2008. SALE PRICE £500 - VALUE AT TIME OF SALE £500."
THAT SHOULD BE FINE.

The forms are starting to get to me, sorry to drag on.

DO NOT ENTER DETAILS OF THE ACCOUNT IN SECTION 5 AS IT IS NOT YOUR ACCOUNT.

IN SECTION 13 (ADDITIONAL INFORMATION) WRITE THE FACTS. THE MONEY BELONGS TO YOUR SON.
HAVING SAID THAT, IF SAY £100 WAS DEPOSITED AT XMAS THAT'S FINE AS LONG AS THE FUNDS DID NOT COME FROM YOU OR FROM AN ACCOUNT OF YOURS. IT WOULD LOOK LIKE YOU WERE STASHING MONEY IN READINESS.

Thanks for that, regarding my sons account, his grandad gives me £10.00 per month in cash, my son has a childrens regular saver with the halifax which after a year getting 8% gets transfered into a save 4 it account, but to enjoy the benefit of the high interest rate deposits must be paid via direct debt, so £10.00 per month came out of my bank every month, and cheques went straight into his save 4 it account, dont know what to do regarding the accounts, Halifax say just close the account and transfer the money into son and hubbys name, but how will the OR see it. please help.

thanks

So that is for all dd's nothign going accross to your sons account for now. Prob best not to reset that up from your account for a bit but maybe there is another way you can get the money in there for your son each month.

Not long now and you will finally be free from those damn debts, i know how quick it can go been nearly 6 months now, half way there. You will be ok, just stay focused and calm and things will run smoothly.

Best of luck
