Hi I am in the process of putting everything together to go bankrupt. I have been in an IVA for just over a year and i have decided its not for me. I wanted to know if going bankrupt would effect me going to live abroad and for how long will it effect me getting a good mortgage rate and habing a better bank account? When the bankruptcy is put in the local paper will it state my full name, occupation and address?
Hi Lauraj welcome to the forum As far as i know living abroead will not be a problem for you as far a mortgage goes , as soon as you are discharged you will in theory be able to get one but the rate will be higher than normal and you'll need a decent size deposit eg.30%. As far as banks go they are all different and yes the OR will put in the paper your name address not sure about your occupation.
If i;m wrong about anything ive said i'm sure someone will point you in the right direction
