My rent is paid direct by housing benefit to the housing association, so I have nothing directly to do with the payments. However, the benefit is paid monthly and my rent statements always show a defecit of around £500 just before the next payment. As far as I'm concerned I am not in arrears but how do I put this on the SOA?

i guess you could always explain this in the extra info page on the back of the SOA

moving forward to new beginnings

There are in effect - no rent arrears, just record your rent payments and make a note alongside that these are paid direct to your Housing Association.
