How does the Official Receiver determine the IPA - Income Payment Agreement relative to your job ? I work in Sales while my wife is at home and doesn''t work. For the first 3 months of my job my salary and bonus were guaranteed which may reflect badly if the OR were to check my bank account. Now the OR isn''t aware I work in Sales, they think my job in non-commissioned and I don''t want my first 3 months to increase my chances of getting a higher IPA than I really deserve. Also, can they speak to my employer to check my job role and are there any "creative" ways to get around this or any other sales-related role without getting into trouble with the OR ? |

Hi mudpuppy and welcome to the forum.
Im not sure how you will work your earning out, but i should imagine you may need to take an average of your last 3 months pay.
Good luck.

From "Moneyworries" to "Movin On" in 3 months is fantastic :-))

Hi
from your post it would appear that you are already bankrupt. Please be advised that the OR will not need to contact your employer to establish your job title as this can easily be done when the HMRC are contacted, they usually are.
It would also appear you may have declared a job title which is not accurate, in which case I'm afraid the OR will very likely go through your case with a fine tooth comb if this comes to light. There is also the issue of the affidavit you may have signed if you petitioned yourself.
If your salary varies then an average of the 3 salary slips prior to bankruptcy will normally be taken as your income figure for the purpose of calculating the possibility of an IPA. This is nothing to worry about as each time your net salary varies you just need to inform the OR and they will reassess the IPA.
In answer to your last question I'm afraid not if you are PAYE.

I wouldn't recommend getting 'creative' with the OR no matter what you do. Doing that is asking for the OR to go through your case with a fine tooth comb, looking for what else you may have been creative with.
