Hello, I wonder if anyone could help me. I have been bankrupt for about 6 months now, and I am paying into my IPA every month.
Originally I thought that the Official Receiver would allow me to keep 30% of my real disposable income. However, I received a bonus earlier this year, and they told me to pay the whole amount into my IPA. I am due to receive another, larger, bonus soon. Can the OR take all of that as well?
Please do not misunderstand me, I am accept that I need to pay as much as possible into my IPA, but just want to be sure of this point, i.e. that you can keep 30% of extra disposable income.

Also, will I be allowed to keep any of my pay rise? Food and energy prices have risen vastly over the past months, and it would help if I was allowed to keep some of my pay rise!

Thanks for your time!

Hi Douglass,

Welcome to the forum,

As you have been bankrupt for six month you should soon be recieving your six month questionnaire which will enable you to rework your income and expenditure, if you have not recieved this give them a call and ask them to send you one so that you can recalculate your new income against your expenditure.

As far as the 30% is concerned you are in an income payment agreement which means you have agreed to pay these amounts and they are negotiable so bring this point up with your trustee and mention this point and see what the responce is.

Hope this helps

Brett

Thanks for your advice. The OR will be sending me a new Income and Expenditure form, and I am waiting to hear back from them regarding my bonus.
Thanks again.
