Hi my name is Heather. I'm 20 in a few weeks and I am currently unemployed which means no income coming into my account. In total I think I owe out roughly £8000 and have no idea of how i'm going to pay back. Just don't know what to do. If you can get back to me asap.

Many thanks

Hi Heather and welcom to the forum - please try to see if there are any alternatives you could do before considering filing your petition for such a relatively small amount and at such a young age ! I appreciate that right now with no income £8k must seem a massive amount but in the whole scheme of things it is a very small debt.

If you could hang fire until 1st April a new scheme is coming into play called a Debt Relief Order (DRO)for debts under £15k. This is a whole new way of dealing with debt and I will provide full details nearer to the date. You will have to go to your Local Citizens Advice Bureau (others will also be doing it but i have no info) who complete a DRO for you. This will be absolutley perfect for you. I have all the details at the moment as my other half works for the CAB but things are not 'out there' yet so I cannot provide you with nitty gritty...but suffice to say this would be the best thing possible for someone in your position.
The 1st of April is not long, try to fob off your creditors until that date, normally i would not recommend you do that but in this case I most certainly will
