Hi if my husband and I decide to go bankrupt, do we have to lis everything we owe? or will thw court just look at our credit file? also I just read that we will not be able to have a bank account? do they write to them too or will they need to be on our list (even if we dont owe them?) Thanks Sarah

Hi and welcome.

If you go bankrupt, you will have to fill forms in before you go to court, you can find these here:

http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/

You will need to list all of your creditors.

I think you will have to put your bank account down, and it may be frozen.

You will be able to have a basic bank account while you are bankrupt.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

Bank account wise the Co-op cashminder is a great account, i had mine about 1 year prior to BR just before i went BR i called their BR dept and advised them who said they would not freeze my bank account and they didnt. They are very nice people too.
