Hi Guys,

I am going to be discharged in the next month or so.
When i filled for bankruptcy i had a credit card (Natwest) which wasnt mentioned in the bankruptcy as i owed nothing on it (balance £0)
When i logged into my natwest current account, the accounts had been removed (Obviously) but the credit card account still remains there.

It just say the account status in open and i have £2000 available credit.

I guess its the bank mistake for missing this as i did have a normal bank account with them when i filled for bankruptcy and they closed my current account but havent closed my credit card account.

Would it be illegal or wrong to use this carefully after being discharge?
I havent got the credit card as when i paid the balance off i chopped up the card, but my account says i can use it (as far as i can see)

I didnt know after being discharged weather this would be leagal or not, i thought if i used it and paid off what i spent in full i could rebuild my credit file again??

any ideas?

Also im new to this forum and as i said im being discharged in about 4 weeks, is there anything i need to do after being discharged??

thanks

I have my BR hearing in the morning and as most of my debts are from credit cards, my advice to you would be DONT DO IT. I know you would like to start repairing your credit and it is nice to think you won't make the same mistake twice and you will always pay of the balance every month. Good luck to you if you can but it doesn't always work out that way. You are now debt free. Why not stay that way.

As far as I'm aware even though there was nothing owing on the card at the time of the BR you cannot use it.
