Could anyone help me with filling out the section in the statement of affairs refering to pensions?
I work in the civil service and will have a civil service pension when I retire (20 years from now). Do I include this on the form where it asks "Apart from state benefits, do you have or have you had any personal pension arrangments?" Or does this only apply to 'personal' pensions and not work related pensions? If they do require details of my work pension payments so far, it will take me some time to find out the information though and I am declaring my bankruptcy next week.
Your pension within the civil service is not to be stated on the statement of affairs, this part of the form relates to any private pension you may be paying into, not a non contributory pension which forms part of your employment contract. Your pension will be exempt from the bankruptcy

Thanks for letting me know Melanie. Good to know my pension will be safe.
Thanks again for all your advice. Hopefully by Wednesday I will not be pestering you all anymore as my court date is then and with any luck, I'll be able to start afresh. I have learnt so much in the past few months, so hopefully I'll be able to use my experience to help other people going through the same initial steps to bankruptcy as I have.
