| Iw wondered if anyone can help me, i am bankrupt and have been under extra strain lately from my estranged husband (he has been warned by the police regarding his behaviour], before i went bankrupt he left the family home to live with someone else. I have now got a boyfriend who wants to take me away for a week fully paid for by him for my birthday as he has been worried about my welfare, my estranged husband said i will get into trouble for this which is causing me further distress. can anyone please advise me, thanks. |

There is absolutely nothing wrong in your new partner taking you away for a well deserved break, lucky you go and enjoy it. The best advice i can give you here is ignore everything your ex says he sounds like he does not want you to be happy, ignore him and move on...

We are due to go BR at end of March, and have a family holiday booked for this summer, which has been booked for about 12 months. We have already paid for approx half of this holiday, and my parents have agreed to fund the other half, and spends. Does the OR need to know about this, and if so what is the likely response?

It all depends on how you funded the half you have paid, was this via credit? Did you pay for the holiday when you knew you had a debt problem or was that from a chain of events after the holiday was booked. No hard and fast rule, but providing your family are funding the rest of the holiday it should not be a problem, but mention it to the OR when you speak to them

Thanks for reply, the payments were made up of initial deposit on credit card, and rest cash since.
In all honesty when we booked the holiday we should have known we would encounter financial problems, but at that point had not acknowledged.
Guess we will just have to await response, and cross our fingers.
