I am in the process of going bankrupt. I have a couple of questions I would like to have answered.

1. I have a car on hire purchase for approximately £227 a month. I need my car to get to work as I suffer from Crohn's disease which means I get very very urgent needs to get to a loo making use of public transport impossible. Is it likely I will be allowed to continue to use my car. My husband also has asperger's and cannot use public transport.

2 We live in a council rented maisonette. I have endeavoured to find out from the council if I am likely to lose my tenancy but they are remaining obscure about it. I have checked on my tenancy agreement and there appears to be nothing about bankruptcy.

Hello, jjmet, I am also in the process of petitioning for bankruptcy.
There is an xpert here who can give you details about your questions, but I can anwer from a layman's perspective.

1. You need you car for work. If the value is under £2500 you may be allowed to keep it.

2. Do not worry about your council home being taken away. The council will not move you out.

Again, someone much knowledgeable will answer you questions. I just wanted to put your mind at ease. I know how stressful this process can be.

Take care, jjmet

All I have left is my sense of humour.
