Hi All

I have recieved a letter from Barclays,
They are one of my creditors,
The letter states that they know I have gone BR,
They have frozen the old account .
But have asked if I would like to open a cash card account.
Hope this info helps.

All the best

Leakie

I would not recommend that you open a new account where you have a debt included in the bankruptcy - banks have the right of set off which means that they can use any credit balance to off set against any other account in the bank such as other overdraft/loan or credit card. People are always instructed to open a new account in a bank where they have no other debt nor linked to any of their creditors.

Hope this helps

Hi Melanie
Thanks for your reply,
I thought that once your are made BR, they could not chase the ammount owed,
So what you are saying even after you have been discharged from BR, may be a couple of years down the road, and you go back to the bank, which was a creditor, they can still get there money back?
I will stay well cear of Barclays then,
or have I mis-understood you.

Thanks

Leakie
