If the OR has no interest in yr bank account( ie they are not one of yr creditors) Do they still take yr card and write to the bank. I spoke with my bank this mng who said they would have no issue with me having the acc but would obviously withdraw the overdraft facility which was never used
the OR will have no interest in this account if it is not overdrawn and/or there are no funds available other than those required for your essential expenditure payments.
Once the OR declares no interest then you can continue to use the account and retain a debit card for the account provided the bank authorises you to do so.
Please be aware that whilst you have been given the thumbs up by your contact things can, but do not always, change once the declaration of bankruptcy has actually been made.
If the bank are happy for you to keep your account make sure you hang on to your debit card! I didn't and Lloyds would only send me a cash card, meaning I still had to change accounts.
Just a word of warning though - as John says things can change once you are actually BR. Even though your branch might be happy for you to keep your account head office might not be. It might be worth opening a second account just in case.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
Do they at any point need statements from either this account or my business acc( bus acc only has the tax money ive set aside from when I was temping)
I am also wondering if I have enough now put away for the tax bill on the ltd cpy( I think I do) but what I would hate is for me to go thru all this and then find I owe money! Also is the fact I have this set aside for inland rev seen as favouring a creditor???
