Sadly these days it is not only credit applications that companies use CRA's to search. Better deals on Utilities, Mobile phone, Mortgages, I even know of a couple of companies that check with CRA's when applying for a job!
Now retired so that's not likely to affect me and I'm more than happy with my utility company and mobile phone company.
