just found out my promotion is a definate. Our income will increase quite a bit, and based on their previous allowances agreed to (1518) we'll have 1608.02 (90.02 DI).

Obviously I ought to increase my travel (will be doing 5 days a week rather than 3), and possibly meals at work allowance as well. How much do you think this should be? Is another 10 per month for travel, and another £5 for meals at work ok?

The change comes in to effect part way through pay periods (not got confirmation of exact date), so when should I inform the OR? should I wait until I am in the beginning of the first full pay period (be the very beginning of may)?

I had previously told them it might happen, and they said they'd send me a new I&E form, but this was 4 weeks ago and I havent had one.

Weeks of BR

Congratulations for the promotion!

I would give the OR a call and explain what has happened, and that you won't know your real take home until the beginning of May. They should then send you a new I & E which you can return when you know what you'll be earning.

It would also be worth explaining that you don't know how much extra your travel and meals will be, and again they will probably be happy to wait for the new I & E until you know this.

I had a pay rise a few months after I started paying my IPA and I was also waiting to move house. The OR was happy to wait until I had all the information before reassessing my I & E.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
