Well the BR forms are just about filled in - I have decided to put them to one side until Monday! My day off!
I have got a copy of my credit report from experian and just as Skippy13 said, it lists all the dates you started accounts/credit cards/loans for the SOA form. Very useful. (It listed some as "settled" that I thought were included in my IVA and therefore would move into my BR - should I still include them or assume they are indeed settled/written off by the creditor?)
Had a brief chat with the OR office, spoke to a really nice chap, that put my mind at rest a bit.
I am at court at 9am on the 18th April - I am not looking forward to it but I know its got to be done. I know you need to have three copies of the two forms - what about all the extra bits I am taking? Will they need copies of these for the OR or take the originals?
Am dreading my details going in the paper - I will be keeping a low profile for a few weeks. How did those of you already through that stage deal with people asking? Family? Friends?

Hi m and v,
At the court you will only need the 6.27 and 6.28 in triplicate all other paperwork take or send to the OR directly.
In my local paper the Bankruptcy announcements are in with the traffic announcements so when friends and family pointed out my Bankruptcy I told them to get a life and the following week phoned them to ask were the road works were going to be that week!
This made a bit of fun out of it!!
Good Luck

Mine was with the 'adult services'! I had my answer ready if anyone said anything (which they didn't).

Thanks again for your replies. What about the creditors that are listed as "settled"on my credit report? Do I include them in my BR form as they were in my IVA or assume they are nolonger creditors as the report states them as settled?
Thanks |

Hi,
If you belive there is still a debt outstanding to these credtiors enter them onto the statement of affairs, regardless of what the report says.
The OR will write to the credtiors and inform them you are Bankrupt, they will then be given the option to make a claim in the Bankruptcy so it will be up to them to inform the OR.

My announcement was in with the planning permission etc. only one friend saw it and not many of my family know about my bankruptcy as they are stuck up. I have no problem with telling people though. it's happening to so many people nowadays that you just got to say you tried your best but these things happen. at least it's a fresh start. I've started all over again and where i was bad with money before, I have now learn't from my mistakes and I am actually quite scared spending money. to me it was the best thing to happen to me other wise I would have still been on the downward spiral that I was on. |

Thanks vikivk - its good to hear from people that have been there already. I just want it over and done with now. I have been very honest with everything on my SOA and hope the OR will find it ok. I felt with my IVA I had to keep everything to an impossible minimum just so they would let it continue - we have absolutely broken ourselves trying to meet the payments that kept creeping up. Here's to a new start!
