I have posted a few times about my nil tax code IPA not being collected from me. Basically i went on nil tax code in September 2008 and nobody has yet contacted me to arrange payment of the extra i have had in my wages. It is almost 9 months since my first tax free month, 12 months since i went BR and 5 months since i was discharged. Well tempteation finally got the better of me and i have dug into the money for the past two months. I am now £2k short if they were to ask for the money now. I know i have done wrong and i know i have been stupid but does anyone know what my punishment is likely to be? What can they do now? Can they make me BR again or put me under a BRO even though my BR is now up? Can they do anything worse?

Hi

I would suggest you will not hear from the "collecting" agent now since you are discharged and have no DI based IPA. Your case file has probably been closed.

Thanks John,

I sincerely hope you are right. However if they did come along now what could they do? If i was to say i would pay it monthly over a couple of years are they likely to accept in your opinion?

Hi

the short answer is I don't know as whilst yours is not the first case that I have heard of whereby the monies have not been collected. I have not seen a case where the collecting agent has reappeared post bankruptcy to collect the funds originally due.
