hello everyone,we have a date of 2nd June for our br.We have managed to secure a property to rent from the 3rd June as we are going to go for voluntary repossession. Can we move out and then inform our mortage company and secured loan of our intentions,as the mortaged company are also our bank and we are worried they might freeze our bank account, which our wages are still paid into till we get our br. |

you can do but it may be better to open a basic bank account like the COOP cashminder account , transfer any funds and DDs and then give the keys back to the Bank then the worst they can do is send you letters etc until BR

Hi Davelvg, think it depends on the mortgage company. I was with Northern Rock and they don't accept the keys as they will change the locks anyway. I ended up signing the Deed of Acknowledgement form that they sent but crossed out the "will be liable etc." bit. NR told me they would only accept Voluntary Surrender with forwarding address etc. Only now been behind by two payments but they have sent me letter saying they have now re-possessed the house thank goodness. I included the shortfall on my SOA so hopefully all will be ok. Good luck!

hello frosie90,thankyou for your reply.I am with the natwest, and also picture finance.I am expecting trouble from both. There is going to be a massive shortfall.Just hoping my Br will not be refused when we go to court. We feel very stupid about the way we have got into this position. All we can do is keep hoping it will get better with time. Thanks again. |

Hi davelvg, I am sure you will feel relieved on the 2nd. Can't see BR will be refused. I felt the same though. I did similar to you, found rented accommodation and basically gave up my house. You will see the build up in my previous posts. Roll on relief day for you!! Best wishes
