Hello, I am shortly going to file for BR. I understand that my bank account will be frozen. Do I try to open a new BR friendly before I go BR, or do I wait until I am BR?
Also do I tell the O.R about the new bank account? Many thanks in advance.

Yes. Open a co-op cashminder account prior to bankruptcy, get all your funds, direct debits etc transferred to this new account and notify the OR in the interview of this account and the fact that it is a basic account. It will prob not be frozen as it is a basic account only and the co-op are BR friendly.

It's also worth taking out any money in the account the day before your BR hearing just in case there are problems. There shouldn't be with a Co-op account but you never know.

Thanks for replies. Co-op banks are one of my creditors. Are there any other banks that are BR friendly?

The Yorkshire bank are BR friendly and you can pay money in at Post Offices so you don't have to have a branch near you. Think banking are also BR friendly but it costs £12.50 each month to have the bank account.
