hi all, thought i would share with you all my experience. i went bankrupt on thur, saw the judge who looked quite stern but turned out to be ok, after seeing him i had to go over to see the OR but they were to busy to see me there and then and said i would get a phone call, i had a call about an hour after i got home making an appointment to phone back at 2.30 that afternoon.
sure enough at 2.30 my mobile rang and it was the OR, she was a lovely lady who put me at my ease straight away, we went over my paper work and put me right on my reasons for going bankrupt. i have two bank a/c and asked if i would lose them she told me that the one that i had on my own with money in (that i had set aside for my crediters)would be frozen but the joint one she had no interest in and that it was upto the bank, but that if they did freeze it she would be able to unfreeze it for me. my other half rang the nationwide and they said as it was just a cashcard there would be no problem keeping it open.checked my a/c this morning and my one had gone but the joint one still running.
i also told her that my kids had booked a holiday for us to go on at the end of the month and she was happy for me to still go. as for the mobile phone she also said that its upto the company and just wait and see. so after all the sleepness nights and the crying i have done, i must say i felt a lot better this morning when i got up
It can often take a little while for you to settle down after Br - it almost seems unreal that you are actually debt free and can start living again without the worry.
Well done for having the courage and dignity to draw a line for yourself.
If you have any Q's along the way we will be delighted to help
take care and thank you for sharing your experiences
