Hi, ive not actually made myself/been made bankrupt yet but was wondering if a creditor has not chased me for a debt for a number of years, does that mean its been written off by them ? i.e. can they chase me again years down the line? thanks Bill

Hi Bill,

I'm pretty sure that if your creditors have not chased you for a debt, and you have not corresponded with them about in within the last six years, then they cannot claim the money back from you.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

If no contact at all between you and a creditor is 6yr&12yr for a mortage then there is a statue of barr and debts are writen off. However if creditor has issued a ccj on any previous address then the statue of barr is void. I aslo believe debts with DWP dot count
