Hi there. I am going bankrupt but need to save up the fee first. I have been getting red letters for quite a while now and am getting a bit worried at how long i have left, my problem is i work in a hr office and im worried a debt collection company will contact my manager to request money is taken from my pay, can they do this or will i have to go to court etc first, and if they can request this, how do they know where i work? |

Hi,
A debt collector will not ask for money to be taken from your pay, they cannot do that. All they can do is write to you and possibly send a collector round to your home to ask for money. They cannot force you to pay.

To get an Attachment of Earnings in order to take money direct from your pay, they would have to take you to court first. |
