We have our OR interview tomorrow morning,does anyone know what typeof questions they will be asking, really want to make sure I don't look like a drip when I don;t have the answers they want. Will they ask both of us the same questions???
I know that this is now the last leg and although it hasn't been easy the support has been brilliant and I hope it has been worth it. |

I have my OR interview coming up soon, I would be really grateful for anything you can pass on.
From discussions I have had it seems they just go through the form section by section, line by line. Sure an expert will be along to verify that.

Morning Kadge and V,
During the interview the examiner will base their questions around the statement of affairs form 6.28.
They will ask questions regarding your income and expenditure to see if there is any disposable income to go towards and IPA/IPO.
They will spend some time going over who your creditors are and what the money was spent on and over what period of time.
They will look at and disuses any assets you have and what will be done regarding these.
They will then go over your reasons for the debt.
Whilst asking these questions they will write down the answers you give which will form the basis of a report to be sent to your creditors.
I hope this helps you both and good luck in your respective interviews.

Hi Kadge
If it is a telephone interview make sure you are in a quiet room so you can concentrate. Get a glass of water and a copy of your statement of affairs.
Read the statement of affairs before you havr the call to ensure you are fully familiar with it.
The examiner ( unlikely to be the actual Official Receiver) will want to go through the following in time order:-
What happened to cause the situation where the debt occurred ( DIVORCE, JOB , GAMBLING, DRUGS, MORTGAGE INCREASE, OVERSPENDING, BUDJETING, ILLNESS ETC ETC ETC) So it may be useful for you to do your own timeline on paper before the call.
They then want to go through the debts individually . So you had your barclaycard in 1991 what did you spend the money on and when did you realise there was a problem ( you used credit to pay for credit and household bills etc) They may ask for previous statements.
If you have a car they will obviously ask about the value and if you need it etc.
Most of all don't panic this is simply an information gathering excercise - nothing more

The best piece of advice I was given was to answer the questions honestly but don't offer any more information than the examiner asks - you could talk yourself into a hole! There will be silences while the examiner writes down your answers, but don't be tempted to fill them.
The interview really wasn't as bad as I expected, so good luck to both of you x
