I am living in NZ and need to petition for bankruptcy. Can you recommend someone in the UK to do this on our behalf or would it be easier for us to fly over and represent ourselves in court?

You can either fly over and petition yourself at the High Court, London. You don't need to make an appointment and can petition and be declared BR on the same day.

The other option is to use a company such as Reviva UK (http://www.revivauk.com/) who post on this board. You would need to sign over the power of attorney to them, which I think can take a few months.

Hi I am also living abroad and will be flying over to declare BR. I looked at trying to get some one but the cost would greatly add to my BR!!! If you look at the SOA forms and can fill them in yourself then take it from there. You can fly into London and walk into court without booking an appointment. Do your research first and take a good look at the forms. Ten decide from there.

Hi

Some people prefer to do it themselves as it sometimes helps with closure and others really prefer or need some help.

AS cazoom says the forms are not too bad and with some guidance from the forum or one of the experts offline you may be fine.

you should look at the forms first then calculate the costs in flying back yourself, including accomodation costs, travel, food etc.
