We went bankrupt in February 09 and have been renting our home since February 08 following the repossession of our home.

We have now decided we would like to move to a cheaper property but are worried that our bankruptcy will make this move problematic.

Has anyone had dealings with Brown and Co estate and letting agents as this is who the property we are interested in is with.

Hi,

No personal experience I'm afraid, but it may just be a case of 'suck it and see'.

You can but try it.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

Normally letting agencies will do a credit check. You could either be honest and mention that you are BR when initially talking to them or take a chance that they won't do a credit check and not tell them that you are BR. Some agencies will let BR people rent a property but will require several months deposit rather than the normal one of two.
