If i declare myself bankrupt at my home address ( own home ) and then move out into a rented property (cant afford mortage and secured loan due to divorce) will my new landlord be informed of bankruptcy?

Not in the normal course of business, however bankruptcy is public and any change of address will show up on the online insolvency register. Another thing to think about though is if you are moving whist bankrupt is wether your landlord requires you to declare these things when entering into a contract with him/her.

A landlord will probably run a credit check on you though and may find out that way. Some posters find it better to be truthful from the outset.

You may find that you have to put down a hefty deposit (usually 6 months rent in advance).

The glimmer gets brighter all the time
